Funeral services for Olivier Morin, of Albert Lea, will be held 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Theodore Cemetery. There will be a prayer service held at 6 p.m. today. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area Veterans Groups.
Olivier died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 14, 2004,
at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea. He was 82 years of age.
Olivier was born April 26, 1922, in Somersworth, N.H., the son of Joseph and Bertha (Tarbage) Morin.
He attended public school in New Hampshire. Olivier was united in marriage to Gertrude Beaudoin on June 3, 1944, at St. Edmonds Catholic Church in New Hampshire.
He served his country during World War II in Okinawa, Japan as a tail gunner and ammunition officer. He was a member of the American Legion.
Olivier was self employed as a truck driver for many years with the Wilson Co. in Albert Lea and CRST Transit in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He also worked part time for Ken’s Service in Albert Lea and at the theater in Albert Lea. Olivier enjoyed yard work in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude of Albert Lea; daughter, Priscilla and her husband Roy Rudder of Waterboro, Maine; one grandson, Ray Landry of Albert Lea; one sister, Irene Nolette of Biddeford, Maine; and one brother, Peter (Adele) Morin of Plainville, Mass.
Olivier was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Wilfred, in July of 2004.
