Knights drop offensive shootout at Lyle/Pacelli

LYLE &045; The Alden-Conger football team ended the regular season Wednesday night with a wild 48-46 loss at Lyle/Austin Pacelli.
Jason Hemmingsen led the way for the Knights, scoring six touchdowns while rushing for 268 yards on 26 carries. Ryan Wach ran the ball 13 times for 123 yards and one touchdown.
Quarterback Scott Martinson completed five of 10 pass for 57 yards and one interception.
The Knights had a chance to take the lead late, according to head coach Chad Mattson, but a fumble ended it.
&uot;It was an offensive battle,&uot; said Mattson. &uot;They got the best of us at the end when we blew a couple coverages.&uot;
The Knights, 3-5, open the playoffs Tuesday.
