Morreim, age 77, of Minnesota Lake, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at her home in Minnesota Lake.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at the United Methodist Church in Wells. The Rev. Art Keith will officiate. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 26, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.

Darlene was born on Jan. 24, 1927, in rural Wells the daughter of William and Sarah (Buschow) Schmidt. She graduated from Wells High School in 1945 and worked at Wilson and Company in Albert Lea. She married Marvin Morreim of Albert Lea in Wells on Jan. 14, 1947. They moved to a farm near Minnesota Lake in March of 1948 and farmed until 1969; then moved into Minnesota Lake in 1970. She was employed at the former Welch Grocery Store and Lake Cafe in Minnesota Lake.

She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Wells, the UMW, and also a member of the Minnesota Lake American Legion and Wells VFW Auxiliaries, and served on the Minnesota Lake Community Chest Committee. She enjoyed dancing, sports (was an avid Twins fan), and time spent with her family.

She is survived by three sons: Leslie and his wife Joyce Morreim of Arlington, Minn., Robert and his wife Deb Morreim of Mankato, and Richard and his wife Karen Morreim of Spirit Lake, Iowa; five grandchildren: Jeanine, Nathan, Matthew, Shelby and Ally Morreim; two step-grandchildren: Eli and Amos Nelson; one step great-grandson: Alexander Nelson; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws; and

numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin, in 1999; three brothers: Orville, Orlend, and William; and one sister, Martha Elmer.
