Funeral services for Bernice Venem, age 90, of Albert Lea, will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Grace Lutheran Church. The

Bernice died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Bernice Inga Emma Venem was born June 30, 1914, to Albert and Elizabeth (Bailey) Kaufman in Freeborn County. She had lived in the Albert Lea area all her life and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Bernice had been employed at the DeSoto egg processing plant and was a housekeeper for many families. She enjoyed reading and walking when she was able.

Survivors include her children: Ronald G. and his wife Deb Venem of Kiester, Steve Venem of Litchfield, Calif., Judy and her husband Art Rodriguez of Murrieta, Calif., and Larry Venem of Henderson, Nev.; grandchildren: Brian and his wife Tara Venem and their children, Bailey, Travis, Emmey, David, and Mitchell, David and his wife Kathy Venem and their children, Sarah, Matt, and Ryan, Corey Venem, Vince Venem, Shane Venem, Julian Rodriguez, Nickolas Rodriguez, and Matthew Rodriguez; sister, Corina Stoner of Albert Lea; sister-in-law, Irene Petterson of Waterloo, Iowa; half brother-in-law, Richard and his wife Betty Venem of Jesup; many nieces and nephews; and former daughter-in-law, Janet Venem of Albert Lea.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers and sisters-in-law: Alfred and Marie Kaufman, Willis and Ellen Kaufmann, Vern and Marcella Kaufman, and Clarence and Harriet Kaufman; sister and brother-in-law, Marvel and Russ Hanson; and brothers-in-law: Sam Stoner, Clarence Petterson, Adrian and his wife Lola Venem, and Alton and his wife, Eva Venem.
