One person died Saturday morning after the vehicle he or she was traveling in veered off Interstate-35 and came to a stop in a nearby cornfield, said a dispatcher with the Minnesota State Patrol.
The victim’s identity and gender were not released Saturday. The dispatcher said it was unclear whether the person died as a result of injuries from the accident or from a health-related issue.
The person was traveling southbound near mile post 22 when he or she veered through the median, crossed the northbound lanes of traffic and came to rest in a cornfield, the dispatcher said. The incident occurred at 11:53 a.m.
