Alice V. Anderson, 94, Bricelyn

Alice V. Anderson, age 94, of Bricelyn, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Home in Blue Earth.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Bricelyn Lutheran Church in Bricelyn with the Rev. Lynn Borgeson officiating. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn on Friday, Feb. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services at church on Saturday. Interment will be in Clayton Cemetery in rural Bricelyn.
Alice was born on June 27, 1910, on the family farm in Seely Township, the daughter of John and Joanna (Wood) Armstrong. Rev. Whitby baptized her Aug. 2, 1925, in the Blue Earth River. Alice graduated from Bricelyn High School in 1929. She married Alvin H. Anderson on June 2, 1933, at the South Blue Earth parsonage by Rev. Tufte. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bricelyn, and had taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Missionary Society, Ladies Guild and sang in the church choir, and in later years was assistant pianist. She was a 30-plus year member of the Bricelyn Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, in 1971; son, Rodney, in 2000; and four sisters: Grace Armstrong, Blanche Shirk, Gladys Skinner and Bernadine Parriott.
Survivors include one son, Joel (wife Shirley) Anderson of Kiester; daughter-in-law, Jean Anderson-VanderVorste of Coon Rapids, Minn.; five grandchildren: Todd and wife Lorie Anderson, Patrick and wife Lilian Anderson, Mark Anderson, Craig Anderson and special friend Amy Leland, and Alison Krause and fiance Kevin Steinhauer; five great-grandchildren: Kelly, Gabriel, Jordan and Jessica Anderson, and Matthew Krause; and several nieces and nephews.
