Funeral services for Vickie Leigh Harne will be held 11 a.m. at Advent Lutheran Church, 9475 Jefferson Highway, Maple Grove, Minn., on Wednesday, March 2, Visitation will be held today, March 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at EvansNorby Funeral Home, 1st Avenue East, 2nd Avenue North, Osseo, Minn.
Vickie courageously battled cancer for six years. She passed away early Sunday morning, Feb. 27, 2005, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born Dec. 27, 1953, to Jim and Bea Tripp and lived most of her life in the Minneapolis area. She was 51 years old.
Vickie was a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in child psychology. She enjoyed working with children and helping others, both children and adults. She was employed by the Anoka-Hennepin School District.
Vickie married Lyle Harne on June 26, 1976, in Minneapolis.
She will be missed by her loving husband, Lyle; son, Ben, at home; daughter, Katie and her husband Aaron Kardell of Maple Grove; and son, Andy Harne and his wife Kristen of Minneapolis.
She is also survived by her father, Jim Tripp of Minneapolis; her sister, Mary and her husband Roby Price of Shoreview, Minn.; her father- and motherin-law: Floyd and Harriet Harne of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law: Roxanne and her husband Mark Sauter of Cannon Falls, and Rhonda Harne of Owatonna; and brothers-in-law: Brad Harne ad his wife Lois of Farmington, and Chuck of Albert Lea. Also surviving are nephews and nieces: Josh Sauter of Ithaca, N.Y., Cassie Sauter of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Carrie Sauter of Cannon Falls, and Lindsey, Paige and Ethan Harne of Farmington; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who survive her.
Vickie was preceded in death by her grandparents; her mother, Bea Tripp in April 2003; amd other relatives.
Vickie’s passing has made a large void in the lives of those who loved her. She will be missed. She was loved so much.
