Virginia Jensen, 84, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Virginia I. Jensen, age 84, formerly of Albert Lea, will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Clayton Balsley will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Virginia died Friday, March 4, 2005, at the Sunrise Cottages in Rochester.
Virginia Irene Jensen was born on July 20, 1920, in Atchison County, Mo., the daughter of George W. and Alta I, (Hall) Simpson. She grew up and graduated from Tarkio High School in Tarkio, Mo. In 1939, Virginia was united in marriage to Forrest Evans. He preceded her in death in 1942. Virginia was married to Alton T. Jensen on Aug. 22, 1945, in Salem Ore. Following Alton’s discharge from the Army, they moved to Albert Lea and started Jensen Transport. In 1982, Virginia and Alton sold their business and retired. They spent winters in Tucson for the next ten years. In 1993 they moved to Sun City and then to Kasson in 2000. Virginia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, having served as a Past Worthy Matron, a member of the Does, the Albert Lea Crossroads Campers, and the Glenville snowmobile club.
Survivors include her children: Linda and her husband John Campbell of Chesapeake, Va., Judy Evans of Kasson, Michael Jensen of Minneapolis, and Jan Jensen Wilson of Kasson; grandchildren: Tara and her husband Manny Trinidad, Curtis and his wife Joan Morrison, Scott Morrison, Joseph and his wife Debbie Campbell, Roxanne and her husband Steve Hagelberger, Westleigh and his wife Lori Evans, Melissa and her husband Kurt Radke, Joshua and his wife Naomi Jensen, Sarah Jensen, Aric Wilson, and Alex Wilson; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy of
Rochester; and nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents: her husbands: Forrest and Alton; and her son, Philip.
