Charles Quinn, 80, Wells

Charles H. Quinn, age 80, of Wells, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the Albert Lea Medical Center in Albert Lea.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells with the Rev. Meg Sander officiating. Visitation will be held at BrussHeitner Funeral Home in Wells today, April 5, from 5 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to services at church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells with military honors by the Wells Color Guard.

Charles Quinn was born on Aug. 26, 1924, in Ringsted, Iowa, the son of Harold and Marie (Hoine) Quinn. He served in the U.S. Navy on a supply ship. After his discharge he worked for the city of Wells from 1949 to 1989.

He married Elvia M. Horntasch on Feb. 24, 1950, in Wells. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and the Wells VFW and the Wells American Legion Posts. He drove school bus for a number of years. He was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Wells. He enjoyed gardening and working on his car.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy and husband Art Allis of Wells; one son, Thomas and wife Paula Quinn of St. Paul; four grandchildren: Darin and wife Julie Allis of Wells, Eric and wife Ronda Allis of Easton, Reed and wife Tina Allis of Easton, and Kevin Quinn of St. Paul; four great-granddaughters: Megan, Amanda, Lauren and Katie Allis; three great-grandsons: Charlie, James and Will Allis; one brother, Eddie and wife Doris Quinn of Freeborn; one brother-in-law, Walt Anderson of

Freeborn; one aunt, Izola Harried of Albert Lea, and several nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Elvia.
