George Williamson, 80, Phoenix

Memorial services for George Williamson were held March 15, 2005, at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Ariz.

George passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital in Scottsdale, Ariz.

George Edward Williamson was born to Losie and Zelpha (Herr) Williamson on Aug. 8, 1924, at Glenville where he attended school.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War 11. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Eagles.

George was united in marriage to Donna Aumentado on March 29, 1957, in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Following George’s retirement from the Freeborn County Highway Department, he and Donna spent their winters in Arizona. In September 1997 they moved to Arizona permanently to be near their son Billy and his family. Donna died one month later on Oct., 13, 1997.

He is survived by his son, Billy of New River, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Judy (Frank) Meier of Holden, Mo.; grandson, Booth Williamson; granddaughter, Lindsey (Tim) Hall; step granddaughter, Michelle Fisher; and step greatgrandson, Tray Fisher. He is also survived by brother, Kenneth (Arlene) Williamson of Glenville; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna; sister, Margie Jorgenson; brothers: Harold (Hap) and Bernard; and nephews: David and Gary Williamson.
