Patricia Spurr, 69, Whittier, Calif.

Patricia Ann Spurr (Venem) passed away on March 25, 2005, at Presbyterian Hospital in Whittier, Calif., of emphysema. She was 69.
Patricia was born on May 17, 1935, in Albert Lea, to parents Reuben and Ordella Venem. She attended school in Albert Lea, graduating in 1953. She was Albert Lea High School’s Homecoming Queen in her senior year. She attended the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis and became a medical technician, working at a public hospital in Illinois and doctors’ clinics in Minnesota and Washington.
In 1958 she married her high school sweetheart, Don R. Spurr. She bore and is survived by her three sons: Bradley of Whittier, Calif., Kevin of Ahso Viejo, Calif., and Darren of Long Beach, Calif.; as well as one grandson, Jason; her husband; her sister, Carol of Seattle, Wash.; as well as three nieces, one nephew, and several great- nieces and – nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents in 1982 and 2000.
From 1980 to 1995 when she retired, she worked as a teacher’s aide in the Handicapped Children’s unit of a Whittier Elementary School.
She loved to travel and loved life. She loved and was loved. A private family memorial will carry her on her final voyage.
