Harlan Erickson, 85, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Harlan S. Erickson, 85, of Albert Lea, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The
Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Harlan died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Thorne Crest Health Care Center, Albert Lea.
Harlan was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Albert Lea Township, to Carl P. and Ida Marie (Anderson) Erickson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1937.
Harlan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had been a church usher. He worked for American Gas and Stove Company and worked into becoming
an engineer for Scotsman Ice Machine Company. He was secretary treasurer for the Music Union.
Harlan was a member of the Eagles and Elks Club.
Harlan enjoyed music. He owned a band which played at the Herman Tap Room. He also played in a band with his brother Roy, called the Roy Harlan Band. He also played with other local bands.
He enjoyed traveling and working as a volunteer. Harland was an election judge and helped others in preparing income tax.
Survivors include his brother, Le Roy
(Roy) Erickson of Austin; a niece,
Kay Bonnell of Austin; a great-nephew, Michael Heinicke of Rochester; great-great-nephew, Derek Ressler of Blooming Prairie; and cousin, Helen Springborg of Albert Lea.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
