Ladies golfers to meet

A Ladies Day golf meeting will be held Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. at Green Lea Golf Course in Albert Lea. Anyone interested in playing on Ladies’ Day should attend the meeting. Dues are $15 and the opening day of golf is scheduled for May 12.

Traveling baseball tryouts Saturday

Tryouts for the Albert Lea summer traveling baseball teams are set for Saturday, May 7 at Hayek Field as follows:

Rice Lake hosts best shot tourney

NRHEG golfers win triangular

BLOOMING PRAIRIE &045; Justin Beatty led the NRHEG with a round of 42 as the Panthers won a Gopher Conference boys’ golf triangular at Blooming Prairie Tuesday. Justin Kormann shot 46, followed by Cody Boverhuis with 47,

and Nate Spooner with a 50.

NRHEG finished with 185, to Blooming Prairie’s 186 and Alden-Conger’s 195. The Knights’ Nick Reindal and Beatty shared medalist honors.

NRHEG’s record is 6-4 overall.

Couples golf meeting Friday

An organizational meeting for the Green Lea Golf Course Friday Night Couples League is set for Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m. Event night is scheduled to begin May 13. All interested couples are invited to attend.

Wrestling Golf Classic May 21

The 10th Annual Albert Lea Wrestling Golf Classic is set for Saturday, May 21 at Green Lea Golf Course.

The tournament is again a four-person, best-ball format. Form your own foursome or sign up as an individual and be placed on a team. Men’s women’s and mixed foursomes are welcome. Several prizes will be awarded, including $1,250 for a hole-in-one.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. with a shot gun start at noon. Pork chop dinner, cash bar, awards and program is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Registration, which includes golf, T-shirt and dinner, is $50.

Gus Macker set for June 25, 26

The 2005 Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Jam will be held again this year at Northbridge Mall in Albert Lea.

The dates are June 25 and 26.
