Janet Poole, 62, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Janet Lou Poole will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at the First Presbyterian Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.
Janet died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at Infinia Nursing Home, Faribault. She was 62 years old.
Janet was born in Albert Lea on July 31, 1942, the daughter of Louis A. and Elvina (Dezell) Hahlen. She was a 1960 graduate of Albert Lea High School and attended Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis.
On July 10, 1965. Janet was united in marriage with James R. Poole. They have made their home in Albert Lea since 1967 and were members of First Presbyterian Church.
Janet had worked for Baker Properties and North Star Inn for two and 1/2 years, and Twin Cities Wholesale Drug for two and
1/2 years in Minneapolis. She worked as a bookkeeper for Holiday Inn in Albert Lea from 1967 until retiring in 1987. She was a member of Job’s Daughters, had been active in Girl Scouts and had been a Girl Scout Leader, and while her sons were growing up she had been a Den Mother and active in Boy Scouts, and in Albert Lea marching band. She enjoyed listening to gospel and country music, reading, knitting and doing crafts. Her family was very important to her, and her pride and joy was her grandson, Tyler.
Janet is survived by her husband, James of Albert Lea; two sons: Jeffrey S. Poole of Duluth, Ga., and Jared J. Poole of Albert Lea; grandson, Tyler James Poole of Albert Lea; sister, M. Sue Hahlen of Albert Lea; four sisters-in-law: Georgene Larson, and Sylvia Huber, both of Sioux City, Iowa, Lois (Don) O’Brien of Cape Cod, Mass., and
Janell Poole of Ogden, Utah; and brother-in-law, Burle “Pat” Poole of Westfield, Mass..
She was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Elvina Hahlen; mother- and father-in-law: Garwin and Evelyn Paulson; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and grandparents.
