Marion Boyum, 81, Mankato

Marion R. Boyum, age 81, of Mankato, died Friday, June 24, 2005, at Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Memorial funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Mankato with the Rev. Paul Rider officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of service. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Episcopal Church or donor’s choice.
Marion was born May 13, 1924, to Lloyd and Florence (Hellickson) Campbell in Caledonia, Minn. She was a graduate of Winona High School and attended Northwestern School of Nursing. She married Ensign A. David Boyum of Rushford, Minn., on June 16, 1943, in Norfolk, Va. Marion was a homemaker and also salesperson at Bretts Dept. Store in Mankato for 11 years. She was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church for 36 years. Several of her church duties included Senior Warden and member of Vestry, Altar Guild, ECW, and the Outreach Committee. She had also been active as an Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Hospital volunteer and Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.
Marion is survived by her husband A. David Boyum; three daughters and their husbands: Nancy J. (Peter) Blethen of Madison Lake, Elizabeth A. (Donald) Meredith of Rice, and Susan M. (Randy) Butler of Asheville, N.C.; three sons and their wives: David M. (Jan) of Burnsville, Dean C. (Susan) of Rochester, and Kent W. (Cynthia) of Fairfield, Iowa; grandchildren: Eric Boyum, Samuel and Nicholas Blethen, Molly (Luke) Blethen-Weinandt, and Leah and Donald Meredith; one brother, Robert E. Campbell of Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Jeanne Jones of Tacoma, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
