Gladys Lehman, 91, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Gladys Irene Freeman Lehman will be held 11a.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the United Methodist Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery, Austin. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Home in Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Gladys died on Saturday, July 23, 2005, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 91 years old.
Gladys was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on Aug. 20, 1913, the daughter of Clarence Arthur and Pearl Odessa (Waller) Freeman. She attended school through the 12th grade and then discontinued her schooling to work to help put her brothers through school. She worked as a superintendent of the boarding department at Rollins Hosiery Mill for six years until the time of her marriage.
On Aug. 22, 1933, Gladys was united in marriage with Floyd Edwin Lehman in Des Moines, Iowa. During their marriage they lived in Des Moines, Iowa, and the Austin and Albert Lea area. They were members of the Disciples of Christ Church in Austin and presently the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. She had been president of PTA in Des Moines and
Austin and a member of PEO in Albert Lea.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Lehman (Tom) Butler of Albert Lea; 10 grandchildren: Steven Greibrok, Carol Greibrok, Matthew (Anne) Greibrok, Dawn Butler King, Tammy Butler, Rob (Jada) Butler, Kim (Jon Weiland) Butler, Greg (Teri) Grupp, Jeff (Jackie) Grupp, and Larinda (Travis) Becker; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sons-in-law:
Bud Grupp of Mason City, Iowa. and Bob Hahn of Albert Lea.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd, in 1979; and two daughters: Wilma Jane Lehman Grupp in 1982, and Darlene Irene Lehman Hahn in 2003.
