Wayne Weiss, 68, Glenville

Funeral services for Wayne E. Weiss, age 68, of Glenville, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. Mark Wendland will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Wayne died July 18, 2005, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.
Wayne Eugene Weiss was born July 31, 1936, to Bernard and Ella (Pech) Weiss in Carrington, N.D. He graduated from Northwood High School in 1955. On June 25, 1960, Wayne was united in marriage to Sharon Deyo Monson at the First Lutheran Church.
He was employed at Wilson & Co. for 21 years. Wayne had also driven for Land O’Lakes, Barry Jacobson, and Red Owl, and then worked at Streater until retiring in 1994.
He was a &uot;jack of all trades&uot; and enjoyed fishing, camping, working on automobiles, and spending time with his grandchildren. Wayne was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Glenville, Moose, Eagles, Teamsters, and Local #56.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; daughter, Katherine and her husband Odean Nelson of Albert Lea; sons: Wayne Monson of Janesville, Wis., and Keith and his wife Wendy Weiss of Glenville; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Frances and her husband Carl Nelson of Albert Lea; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy and her husband Ray Rasmusson; and great-granddaughter, Alexi Monson.
