OWATONNA &045; Key hits with runners in scoring position proved to be the difference for Owatonna as it downed Albert Lea 10-5 handing the Colonels their second playoff loss and ending their season.

The Aces put three runs on the board in the third, sixth and eighth innings, and two of those times they scored all three tallies with two outs in the frame.

&uot; They just got the big hits when they needed them, especially from the top of their lineup, and we didn’t,&uot; said Colonel head coach Bill Trygstad.

Albert Lea was able to get men on base, but it couldn’t drive them in leaving eight stranded on the night.

Matt Trygstad and Ryan Wangen led the offense with a pair of hits each as the Colonels held an early 2-0 lead.

Albert Lea finished the season with a 3-21 mark.
