ROCHESTER &045; Construction workers will begin painting the Interstate 35 bridges in Owatonna beginning Monday, August 15, reducing traffic at the north junction of Highway 14 to single lanes in both directions. Traffic on Interstate 35 will not be affected.
This will also affect wide loads over 12 feet from using off ramps from southbound on I-35 to eastbound Highway 14 and northbound I-35 ramp to westbound Highway 14, all at Exit 42. The bridge painting should be completed within two weeks, weather permitting.
After the I-35/Highway 14 bridge painting is completed, crews will paint two bridges affecting Interstate 90 traffic at the junctions of Highway 105 and Highway 218. Traffic will be reduced to single lanes in both directions on Interstate 90. This project will begin approximately on Monday, August 29, and last for two weeks, weather permitting.
Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in the work zone and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
