GLENVILLE &045;&160;Two plays are what stand between Glenville-Emmons and a 2-1 start to the football season.

However, those plays have not gone G-E’s way and as a result it is looking at an 0-3 mark.

The latest setback Friday came against Granada-Huntley-East Chain/ML in a 26-20 overtime loss on homecoming night for G-E.

The Wolverines had a chance to win the game in regulation as they set up for a 20-yard field goal attempt with five seconds left in the game, but the kick was blocked sending the game into the extra session.

After GHEC/ML scored a touchdown to go up by six points the Wolverines had two chances to tie the score with passes into the end zone.

However, each time G-E could not get the completion it needed to extend the game.

The Wolverines had a strong game with 335 yards of total offense including 217 on the ground, but six turnovers proved to be too much to overcome.

G-E fumbled the opening kickoff and its opening possession of the second half which GHEC/ML turned into points each time.

The Wolverines first score came on a 38-yard TD pass from Jared Knutson to Michael Greibrok in the first quarter, and Justin Flattum followed that up with a 35-yard run to the end zone in the second quarter.

The final score for G-E came in the third quarter when Knutson and Flattum hooked up on a 6-yard scoring strike.
