Kenneth Johnson, 87, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Kenneth B. Johnson, age 87, of Albert Lea, will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Silver Lake Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kevin L. Mackey will officiate. Interment will be in the Silver Lake Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Kenneth died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Kenneth Benhart Johnson was born Oct. 7, 1917, to John and Anna (Turvold) Johnson in Worth County, Iowa. He attended country school in Worth County and graduated from Northwood High School in 1935. On June 8, 1941, Kenneth was united in marriage to Olga M. Bergeson.
He was a tool and die maker. After his retirement, the couple moved to Arizona in 1997 and then back to this area in 2003. Kenneth was a member of Silver Lake Lutheran Church. He especially enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Olga of Albert Lea; sons: Erling and his wife Cheryl Johnson of Arizona, and John and his wife Jeanne Johnson of Hastings; daughters: Barb and her husband Jerry Sveen of Emmons, Ruth and her husband Paul Moe of Eldorado, Wis., Becky and her husband John Severtson of Albert Lea, and Jan and her husband Gene Ouverson of Tillamok, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Alton Johnson of Clear Lake, Iowa; sister, Nina
and her husband Paul Emmons of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; three great-granddaughters; and brothers: Leonard and Orville Johnson.
