Anna Erickson, 78, Blooming Prairie

Anna Mae Erickson, age 78, of Blooming Prairie, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Blooming Prairie. She was born Jan. 18, 1927, to Otto and Gladys (Hagen) Anderson in St. Paul. Anna grew up in Albert Lea where she attended school. On May 25, 1947, she married Arthur Erickson at East Freeborn Lutheran Church. They were lifetime farmers, spending the first 10 years of their marriage near Chester, Iowa before moving to a farm in Blooming Prairie Township in Steele County. They moved into town in 1990. A member of First Lutheran Church, where she was active in WELCA, Anna also volunteered for the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary. Her family was the greatest pride and joy in her life; her grandchildren were most special to her. She enjoyed baking and sharing her goods with others, playing cards, eating out and always shopping. She will forever be remembered for her generosity and kindness.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur of Blooming Prairie; son, David (Marie) Erickson of Brooklyn Park; daughter, Nancy (Brad) Clark of Blooming Prairie; grandchildren, Heather and David Clark of Blooming Prairie; brother, Arthur (Rosie) Anderson of Albert Lea. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Darla Anderson, Virginia Enstad, Leona Olson, Bonnie Haugen, Shirley Wigern and one brother, Allan Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 28, at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Hegal officiating. Friends may call at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service. Interment is in Blooming Prairie Cemetery.
