Charles Lange, 77, of Albert Lea

Memorial services for Charles F. Lange, age 77, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Henriksen will officiate. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Freeborn County Veteran’s Organizations. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral home and one hour prior to the services at the Church.

Charles died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Charles Frederick Lange was born June 16, 1928, to Everett E. and Vonda (Grobe) Lange in Minneapolis.

He grew up in Minneapolis, graduating from Southwest High School in 1946. After graduation, Charles entered the United States Army.

While stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, he met Lucille Riojas. The couple married on April 2, 1948, in Seguine, Texas, and moved back to Minnesota in 1954 when Charles began working for 3M.

He retired from his position as plant superintendent at age 57.

Charles and Lucille have lived in Albert Lea for the last 10 years.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the American Legion, Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Assoc. in Canyon Lake, Texas, and the Albert Lea Golf Club. Charles enjoyed reading, golf, dancing, gardening, and, most importantly, spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille, of Albert Lea; children: Joseph, of Texas; James and his wife, Kathy, of Edina; Everett, of Edina; and Vonda and her husband, Dick Rocklin of Albert Lea; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Martin, of Edina; and nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Crossroads Community Hospice, 404 Fountain Street, Albert Lea, MN, 56007.
