Duane Thompson, age 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 in Dalhart, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 27,at the First Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas, with the Rev. Rodney Weatherly officiating. Interment will be at Clayton Cemetery, Bricelyn, Minn.
Milton Duane Thompson was born Oct. 17, 1927 in Bricelyn, Minn. to Milton C. & Vala (Hunt) Thompson. He graduated from Bricelyn High School in 1946. He married Avonelle Kenyon on Aug.
14, 1955, in Albert Lea. They Farmed in Minnesota before moving to Dalhart, Texas in 1979. Duane farmed in the Dalhart area, and after he retired – He worked in Maintenance at Coon Memorial Nursing Home for 10 years. He also worked for Medi – Equip. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dalhart. He was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed sports and reading.
Survivors include: his wife, Avonelle Thompson, of Dalhart, Texas; sons Kevin and Gay Thompson, of Farwell, Texas and Barry and Deanna Thompson, of Rochester; daughter: Lori and Dave Lebahn of Rosemount, Minn.; sister: Neva Onorato of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren: Robert Thompson Jessalyn, Brent and Courtney Thompson, Chris Lebahn and his wife Alexis, and Justin Lebahn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
