Funeral services for Louis F. Buckmaster, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the Oakland Baptist Church in Shawnee, Okla.
Louis died Friday, Dec. 2 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Louis Buckmaster was born Sept. 3, 1930. He was raised in the Dale/Bethel area. He was a graduate of Bethel High School.
He was united in marriage with Margie M. Waalkens of Nashua, Iowa on Sept. 12, 1970. After his marriage, he and his wife Margie lived in Minnesota for three years, then moved to Tecumseh, Okla. and then to Shawnee, Okla.
He served with the United States Army during the Korean War from May 27, 1952 to May 26, 1954. He then served in the Army Reserves until 1960. He worked 26 years as a heavy equipment operator for Shawnee Asphalt and later for APAC Construction.
He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Margie M. Buckmaster; daughter Mary (Jamille) Wilkes; sons Rick (Annette) Willaby of Wagoner, Okla., Mike (Donna) Willaby of Emmons and Brian (Chantal) Willaby of Blue Earth; sister Jessie Schwank of Lewiston, Idaho; brother JR Buckmaster of Shawnee, Okla.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two special nephews, Frankie Joe Knapp and Jacob Buckmaster; five special friends, John and Tammie Collier, Tom Sinkiewicz, Terrie White and Linda Richards and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Raymond and Charlie Buckmaster and sister Mary Jo DeShields.
