John Hogan, 79, of Albert Lea

Funeral services for Jack Hogan, age 79, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Bayview/ Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Owatonna, with military honors accorded by the Freeborn County Servicemen’s Organization. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service time.
Jack died on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
John F. (Jack) Hogan was born on May 5, 1926, in Sioux Falls, S.D. the son of Clarence and Frances (Preuss) Hogan. Jack attended and graduated from Manly High School in 1943. He then served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. After his discharge Jack was united in marriage to Donna Haberman on June 14, 1949, in Owatonna. Jack worked for and retired from the Rock Island Railroad where he was an agent. The couple have been residents of Albert Lea for 44 years where they have been members of St. Theodore Catholic Church. Jack was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was very proud of his home and the renovations that he made, he coached summer league baseball and was an avid sports fan. Jack was a longtime member of Green Lea Golf Course.
Jack is survived by his wife, Donna; children: Sally and husband Jim Hursh, Scott and wife Diane Hogan, Susan and husband Randy Oswald and daughter-in-law Carrie Hogan; eight grandchildren; brother, Bill and wife Esther Hogan of Clinton, S.C.,; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steve and grandchildren, Ryan and Ria Jeanne Oswald.
