AL posts big win in Winona

WINONA &045; The Albert Lea boys’ basketball team stunned the Winona Winhawks on Tuesday night handing them their first loss at home all season, 72-60.
The Tigers put up a solid effort in all aspects of the game and beat one of the better teams in their conference.
The Tigers controlled the ball very well and had five players scoring more than 10 points to show for it.
Parker Skophammer returned after missing a couple of games due to an injury. He scored 12 in the contest.
A.J. Kortz led the team with 16 points while Mike Polis scored 15 for the Tigers.
The Tigers stopped a three-game losing streak with the win over Winona and gain some momentum as they make a final push heading into sections.
A-L is now 8-11 overall with four games remaining on their regular season schedule.
The boys will be at home against Rochester Century on Friday.
