Marvin Miller, 79, of Albert Lea

Funeral services for Marvin H. Miller, age 79, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Henriksen will officiate. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Forest City, Iowa, at a later date.

Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the church.

Marvin died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Marvin Harold Miller was born Dec. 20, 1926, to Milton and Hazel (Hanna) Miller in Forest City, Iowa. He grew up in Forest City and attended Forest City Schools. On Feb. 16, 1947, Marvin was united in marriage to Vivian Charlson in Thompson, Iowa. He worked at the police department in Belmond, Iowa, before moving to Albert Lea in January 1961, where he served 24 and a half years with the ALPD, retiring in 1985. Marvin enjoyed guns, hunting, and his dog, &8220;Rusty.&8221;

Survivors include his wife, Vivian; daughters, Patsy Wenzel and Delores and her husband, Dwight Morris; son, Duane Miller; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth and her husband, Dick Snedden; sisters-in-law, Diane Miller and Dorothy Torkelson; brother-in-law, Donald and his wife, Leona Charlson; and several nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Hazel Miller; father and mother-in-law, Lester and Olive Charlson; brother, Ray Miller; and infant grandson, Chad Morris.
