Mary Noland, 89, of Glenwood

A memorial Mass will be conducted for Mary Noland at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood Minn., with Father Tom Becker officiating.
Mary Noland, 89, of 525 Glen Terrace Dr. died Thursday, Feb. 9th at Glacial Ridge Hospital.
The body has been donated to Mayo Foundation, Rochester, Minn.
She was born July 4th, 1916 in Milwaukee, Wis. to Ben and Minnie Bowen.
On Nov. 7, 1942, she married Floyd ‘Virgil’ Noland of Hayward, Minn.
From 1942 to 1945 she lived in various locations as her husband was in the United States Coast Guard.
She worked for insurance companies as a bookkeeper in Milwaukee.
They returned to Hayward in 1950 to pursue a farm produce partnership in which Mary assisted with the records component of the operation.
Mary and her husband moved to Rochester, Minn. in 1993 due to his health concerns.
After his death, she moved to Glenwood, Minn. in August of 1998 to be closer to her family.
She was active in the mission group at Sacred Heart Church by knitting hundreds of caps and mittens for children.
During winter months, Mary assisted many senior citizens prepare their taxes for the following year.
She enjoyed playing cards and board games with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Greg J. of Glenwood, and Dennis J. of Robbinsdale, Minn.; four grandchildren, Brent, Shelly, Scott, and Casey; two great-grandchildren, Lexi and Ali; a brother, B. Philip Bowen of Milwaukee, Wis.; and a sister, Susan Slowick of Milwaukee, Wis.
Her husband, Virgil, and sister, Anne Wamser, preceded her in death.
