Helen Berg, 91, of Wells

Helen C. Berg, age 91, of Wells, died on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday with a Rosary at 9:15 a.m.
Helen was born on April 26, 1914, in St. Paul. She grew up in the Scarville, Iowa area. She married George Berg Sr. on Sept. 20, 1933, in Blue Earth. They farmed near Rake, Iowa for many years and moved to Wells in 1965. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one son: Raymond (Judy) Berg of St. James, Minn.; and six daughters: Mardelle (Dwain) Dale of Lincoln, Neb., Florence Berg of Wells, VaLores (Donald) Olson of Bricelyn, Karen (Emil) Malakowsky of Albert Lea, Cheryl (David) Karge of Albert Lea, and Pamela (Stephen) Ihme of Albert Lea; one daughter-in-law: Dianne Berg of Blue Earth;
28 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1981; her son George Berg Jr. in 2005; and two great-grand daughters, Kaitlyn Berg and Hannah Karge.
