MANKATO &045;&160;Mankato East took advantage of several Albert Lea errors to win the Big Nine contest 10-0 in five innings Thursday.
Nine of the Cougars 10 runs were unearned and Albert Lea was unable to make up for its defensive miscues at the plate collecting just two hits.
&8220;We played well in our last game, but our mindset was not there
tonight,&8221; said Albert Lea head coach Chad Feikema.
&8220;I don’t know how much we wanted to play tonight.
We have to do a better job of focusing and preparing to play the game.&8221;
Dezeray Jacobs took the loss going the four innings for the Tigers before the game was called due to the 10-run rule.
Alicia Reyerson and Chelsea Barrett collected the team’s two hits in the game.
The girls are back in action this weekend at the NRHEG Tournament.
