Edward Sharpsteen Sr., 87, of Lamberton

Memorial services for Edward Sharpsteen Sr., age 87, of Lamberton, Minn. will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, at the United Methodist Church in Lamberton. The Rev. Theodora Hall will officiate. Interment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Truman.
Ed passed away at St. John’s Lutheran Home Thursday, April 13, 2006.
Edward Sharpsteen Sr. was born Oct. 5, 1918, in St. James, to Frank and Nora (Peterson) Sharpsteen. He married Evelyn Bosshart on Dec. 31, 1947.&160;
Ed served in the armed forces during World War II in the Pacific with the 29th Bomb Group as a medic. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Lions Club, and also the Masons. Ed and Ev owned and operated Sharpsteen Fairway in Lamberton from 1954 to 1982. They enjoyed going to Arizona during the winter months after they retired.
Survivors include a brother, Richard Sharpsteen and a sister, Jeanette Johnson, both of St. James; his children: Edward Jr. and his wife, Karen of Albert Lea, Michael and his wife, Pat and friend, Ashton of New Ulm, and Richard and his wife, Pam of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Emily Sharpsteen of Inver Grove Heights and her fianc, Jason Osnes of Apple Valley, Amy Sharpsteen of Winona, and Adam Sharpsteen and Daniel Sharpsteen, both of Albert Lea.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn in 1996; his brother, Ray; and his parents.
Ed was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and while still ill planned on taking his grandsons camping and worried about what he would wear to his granddaughter’s wedding in June.
