Lois Lewis, 92

Lois D. Lewis, age 92, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother.
Lois Dorothea (Tang) Lewis was born Feb. 9, 1914, the only child of Nels and Anne Tang. She grew up on North Victoria in St. Paul and attended Como Park Elementary, Murray Junior High, graduating from Mechanic Arts High School in 1932. She earned a degree in business from the University of Minnesota in 1937 and was a member of the honorary sorority Beta Gamma Sigma. She worked at First National Bank of St. Paul before marrying Dr. Wendell P. Lewis in 1941. They spent 40 years in Albert Lea, where he practiced dentistry and they were loving parents of three children, Laura of Woodbury, Donald (Marie) of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Linda (Art Thesenvitz) of St. Paul. Lois and Wendell moved to Woodbury in 1986, and Lois entered Woodbury Health Care Center in 1995.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and an infant daughter in 1945. Lois is also survived by two grandchildren, Michael Lewis and Scotland (Penny) Lewis; a great-grandson, Kaiden Lewis; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Caryl Lewis of San Francisco, Calif., Dr. Charles (Shirley) Lewis of Cape Coral, Fla., Mona Lewis of Corvalis, Ore., and David (Alta) Lewis of Midland, Texas; five grandchildren by marriage; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her dedication to home and family, Lois enjoyed painting, playing the piano, and reading.
Visitation is Sunday, April 9, from 3 to 6 p.m. with prayer service at 5 p.m. at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Drive, Woodbury. Private burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
