CANNON FALLS &045;&160;The Albert Lea girls’ golf team saw its season come to an end Thursday at its section meet in Cannon Falls.
The Tigers finished 11th out of 17 teams with a 388.
Freshman Kelli Hanson shot a 90 and did advance to next Tuesday’s second round as an individual. She is currently in second place overall.
&8220;It is great experience for Kelli to make it to the second round and she played well,&8221; said Albert Lea head coach Shawn Riebe.
Senior Alli Arnold recorded a 96 and just missed the cut by a single stroke while another senior in Kaeli Wayne carded 100.
&8220;Even though they didn’t advance it is good to see them end the season shooting like they did,&8221; said Riebe. &8220;We just need to come out shooting low next season.&8221;
April Heilmann shot a 103, Ali Demmer recorded 108 and Mariah How shot 112 to round out the Tiger squad.
Egan was leading the team race with 330.
Hanson will be back in action next Tuesday when she will look to make it into the top five and advance to state playing on the same course.
