LAKE MILLS &045; The Lake Mills softball team looked like a group playing its first game of the season as five errors helped SCMT to a 7-4 victory.
The Bulldogs managed just three hits in their season opener but did take advantage of some SCMT errors to grab a 3-1 lead after one inning.
&8220;It was a poorly played game with nine errors between us,&8221; said Lake Mills head coach Jim Boehmer. &8220;We had some new faces in the lineup tonight and we just have to be better at all nine positions. SCMT did what they had to do in the seventh &045; swing and make us make plays. Give them credit.&8221;
The Bulldogs had a 4-3 lead going into the seventh but SCMT put four runs together to claim the victory.
Megan Pederson took the loss for the Bulldogs giving up eight hits, striking out five and walking six.
Courtney Eidness, Laura Fjelstad and Brittney Byrnes had the Bulldogs’ three hits in the game while Sam Sylvara drove in a run.
