Ronald P. Leger, age 52, of Austin, died Wednesday evening, June 28, 2006, at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester. He was born Oct. 20, 1953, to Arthur and Mathilda (Hagel) Leger in Princeton, Minn. He married Janet Moja on June 8, 1974, in Wells. Ron was a salesman and mechanic. A member of Grace Lutheran Church, Jaycees, Toastmasters, Masons and Shriners, he enjoyed driving in demolition derbies, racing, hockey, spending time with the grandchildren and fishing. He was also an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Leger of Austin; daughters, Nanette (fianc Mark Ladd) Leger of Austin; Rachel (Jeremy Felder) Leger of Rochester; April (partner Nicole Swords) Leger of Blaine; son, Benjamin (Aleisha) Leger of Winona; mother-in-law, Sybil Moja formerly of Wells; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Leger, Amanda Evans, Rebecca Evans, Michael Krofta, Benjamin M. Swords, Tiera Felder, Xavier Felder; sisters, Rita (Fran) Barbeln of Albertville; Mary &8220;Marni&8221; Leger of Sacramento, Calif.; Leone (Stanley) Evanoff of Oakdale; brothers, Robert (Ellen) Leger of St. Petersburg, Fla.; John (Jeanne) Leger of Austin; Kurt (Mary) Leger of Marshalltown, Iowa; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arthur Leger Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Russell Wangen officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. There will be a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Memorials are preferred to Shriners Children’s Hospital and Grace Lutheran Church.
