Dorothy E. Schuster, age 99, of Wells, died Monday, July 3, 2006, at Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 7, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 6 p.m. and a Rosary to follow at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and visitation one hour before the service on Friday at St. Casimir Catholic Church. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery in Wells. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy E. Schuster was born April 5, 1907, the daughter of Albert and Veronica (Pietrus) Schultz in Freeborn Township, Freeborn County. Dorothy graduated from Freeborn High School, the class of 1927. She had played basketball in high school. She attended normal training in Wells and taught in country schools in the surrounding area. She married Andrew &8220;Pete&8221; Schuster on Nov. 11, 1930, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Dorothy was a member of St. Casimir Church, the CCW and the Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Her specialties included making chocolate cakes and lemon pies.
Dorothy is survived by three children: Lorraine and her husband Bernard Heilmann of Hartland, Albert and his wife Shirley Schuster of Hartland and Lowell and his wife Bonnie Schuster of Wells; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law: Josephine Schultz of Wells.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Andrew in 1997, four brothers, three sisters, one half-brother and one half-sister.
