LAKE MILLS &045;&160;Lake Mills’ Megan Pederson threw 13-innings of no-hit softball Monday before finally ending the game with her bat.
The junior came through with an RBI single to drive in pinch runner Ali Dugger with two outs for the only run of the contest giving the Bulldogs the 1-0 victory over Nora Springs-Rock Falls.
Pederson struck out 19 batters, did not issue a walk or allow a hit as NS-RF’s only base runners came on two defensive errors.
Pederson now has 313 strikeouts on the season.
The Bulldogs had eight hits in the game but left 12 runners on base before breaking through in the 13th. Naomi and Megan Pederson had the only multi-hit games for Lake Mills with two hits each.
The victory improved the Bulldogs to 31-4 on the season and 13-1 for the champions of the North Iowa Conference.
