Bayside Skiers third at nationals

The Bayside Skiers finished third at the at the Division II Show Ski National Championships at Eagle Lake in Evansdale, Iowa over the weekend.
The Albert Lea team scored 1,344 points finishing behind the Ski Broncs from Loves Park, Ill. (1,428) and the winning team from in the Lake City Skiers from Warsaw, Ind. (1,706). The Hartwick Huskys from Delhi, Iowa finished fourth with 1,284 points.
Lake City earned the highest scoring acts for jump, barefoot, ballet, pyramid, dock and equipment crew, towboat, pick-up boat and sound crew.
The Bayside Skiers were well represented in the individual events with Dale and Kayln Stensrud finishing second with 13.24 points and Mike Johnson and Molly Touhy were third with 11.68.
The Bayside Skiers also placed second in the team jumping event scoring 45.34 points.
USA Water Ski was formed in 1939 as a non-profit organization promoting water skiing in the United States. USA Water Ski is affiliated with the International Water Ski Federation and is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and Pan-American sports Organization as the national governing body of organized water skiing in the United states.
With more than 40,000 members, USA Water Ski is the largest water ski federation in the world.
