With several regulars sidelined with various ailments, the Albert Lea girls&8217; tennis team could not come up with the answers against Austin falling 7-0 Tuesday.

Kelli Hanson stepped into the No. 1 singles spot usually held by Dezeray Jacobs and fell 0-6, 0-6, while Sarah Wenum moved up to No. 2 and lost 0-6, 2-6.

Sarah Jensen and Holly Bohlen rounded out the singles with neither player able to take more than one game in the four sets they played.

Albert Lea&8217;s No. 1 doubles team of Cara Thorn and Liz Thompson would not fair much better losing 1-6, 1-6. Niki and Hali Hendrickson would win their first game at No. 2 doubles 6-4 but drop the last two 2-, 1-6.

Naomi Holt and Chelsea Hill completed the varsity with a 1-6, 2-6 loss.

Albert Lea, which is 6-6 on the season, hosts Mankato East in an important conference and sectional match Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
