Jonathan Mark Bartelds was born

Feb. 15, 1984, and died Sept. 4, 2006.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at the Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake. The Rev. Duane Juve officiated.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Connie Bartelds; sister Sarah Bartelds; brother Brandon Bartelds; grandparents Rodney and Shirley (Okland) Bartelds and Ken and Dorothy Lundgren; aunt Dawn (Bartelds) and Terry Halloran; uncle Bradley and Colleen Bartelds; cousins, Rachel, Jeremy and Tanya Halloran and Travis and Justin Bartelds; great-aunts Joann Carlson and Carol and Gary Engelby and great-uncle Sonny Okland, all of Albert Lea; great-uncle John and Hazel Bartelds of Miami, Fla.; aunts and uncles: Debbie and David, Kim and Jack, Jackie and Brad, Steve and Cheryl Lundgren and their families; many friends and other relatives; and his dog and friend, Nick.

He was preceded in death by his cousin Jayme Hill and great-grandparents.

Pallbearers were John Rutt, Brian Rutt, Eric Rutt, Travis Bartelds, Justin Bartelds, Mike

Farnquist, Tom Simanovioch and Jeremy Halloran.

God saw that he was getting tired

and a cure was not to be,

so he put his arms around him

and whispered, &8220;come with me.&8221;

With tearful eyes we watched him suffer

and saw him fade away.

Although we loved him dearly,

we could not make him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

hard-working hands laid to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove

to us he only takes the best.
