Lake Mills remains undefeated

The Lake Mills football team scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to complete a 27-21 come-from-behind victory over Clarion-Goldfield.
With the game tied at 21, Mitch Storby hauled in a 25-yard pass from Brent Bjelland with 19 seconds remaining to secure the victory in a game played Saturday after lightning kept the teams off the field Friday night.
Storby also caught a 5-yard TD in the final quarter to tie the game as he finished the day with four catches for 60 yards and two scores.
Lake Mills had 217 yards rushing in the game and 90 more through the air but found itself down 14-0 after one quarter.
Clarion-Goldfield, which did not have a single yard passing in the game, scored on runs of 25 and 45 yards before Lars Christianson would get the Bulldogs in the end zone on a 1-yard run before halftime.
Christianson would bring Lake Mills within seven with another 1-yard TD in the third setting up Storby&8217;s heroics.
Peter Brekken led the Bulldog runners with 147 yards on 20 carries while Spenser Brackey led the defense with 14 tackles. The Bulldogs did have two interceptions in the game but also lost a pair of fumbles.
The win improves the Bulldogs to 2-0 as they prepare for district play this weekend.
