Laura Ditlevson, 94, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Laura A. Ditlevson, age 94, of Albert Lea, formerly of Ellendale, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at First Baptist Church, Clarks Grove. The Rev. Jamie Cameron will officiate. Burial will be at the Clarks Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Laura died on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home.

Laura Anna Ditlevson was born on Aug. 27, 1912, in Bath township, the daughter of Chris and Nora (Peterson) Ditlevson. She attended rural school district 64 and graduated from Ellendale High School in 1930. Laura was a lifelong resident of rural Ellendale and since 1990 has lived at Knutson Place and St. John&8217;s. She had lived on the family farm where she enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. Laura preserved many of her vegetables that she harvested. She has been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where for over 50 years she taught Sunday School in the primary department and also taught Vacation Bible School.

Laura is survived by her brother, Russell Ditlevson of Ellendale, one niece Jean Uldrych of Howard Lake and three nephews, Ronald and wife Cindy Mach, Richard and wife Debbie Mach and Roger and wife Wassana Mach all of the Twin Cities, grand-nephews, Taylor, Brennan, Philip and David and grand-niece Esther. She also has several cousins.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harvey, Thorvald and Walter, sisters, Alice Ditlevson and Marian Mach.
