Marvel Korman, 95, Alden

Marvel Korman, age 95, formerly of Alden, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Parkview Care Center in Wells where she had resided since November of 2004.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. Visitation will be on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Peter Soli will officiate. Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Wells. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements.
Marvel Korman was born on July 3, 1911, in Wells, the daughter of John and Bertha (Thisius) Wille. She graduated from Wells High School and normal teacher&8217;s training, Mankato State University. She was a teacher in Thompson, Iowa, Mansfield, Walters and Kiester for many years. She married Merlyn Korman on April 7, 1936, in Faribault County. The couple farmed near Alden. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden and the Carlston Township &8220;Good Neighbor&8217;s&8221; group. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards, crossword puzzles, fishing, antiques and coin collecting and especially her family.
She is survived by one daughter: Karen (husband Gene) Wagner of Mankato; two sons: John &8220;Jack&8221; (wife Rita) Korman of Alden and James &8220;Jim&8221; (wife Lynda) Korman of Wells; five grandchildren: Tom Wagner, Bob (Linda) Korman, Tim (Amanda) Korman, Jill (Matt) Skogen, Kris (David) Novak; and seven great-grandchildren: Erika Skogen, Nicholas and Kylie Korman, Jesse and Cody Korman, Zachary and Gordy Novak.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merlyn; son Robert; grandson Matthew Korman; and two sisters, Arlean Hansen and Geraldine Wille.
