Steven Aase, 57

Steven Merle Aase, age 57, of Northwood, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 21, 2006 at his home in Northwood. Funeral services will be on Monday, September 25, 2006, at l:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Northwood with Rev. Tom Martin officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 24, 2006, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Highway 65 South, Northwood, Iowa and will continue one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Burial will take place at the South Shell Rock Cemetery, Northwood, Iowa.
Steven M. Aase was born on March 9, l949 to Merle and Sally Aase in Albert Lea. He attended Northwood-Kensett schools and graduated in l967. Steve lived in Northwood all of his life on the Aase family farm. He loved raising animals and won many awards. Steve was an honorary member of the FFA. Steve worked at Alliant Energy for 31 years. In addition, he had his longhorn cattle and sawdust business. Steve also loved sports and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Steve was united in marriage to Sharon Amundson on August 13, l977 in Northwood. Family was very important to Steve.
Surviving Steve is his wife Sharon of Northwood; daughter Debra McDole of Marshalltown; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Natasha of Marshalltown; his parents, Merle and Sally Aase of Northwood; brother Larry and his wife Jackie and their two children Lauren and Joe of Port Townsend, Wash.; aunts and uncles, Don and Gloria Hagen of Northwood, Alvin and Janet Anderson of Sun City, Ariz., Shirley Ryan of Albert Lea, Chet and Sandy Eisenmen of Britt and many cousins and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Inga Aase; maternal grandparents Norval and Grayce Ryan; aunt and uncles Mic and Dick Mandt and Virgil Ryan.
Steve was a loving husband, father, son, grandparent, brother and friend.He will be greatly missed.
