Jean Van Winkle, age 81, formerly of Albert Lea, passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2006 at the Wellstead in Rogers after a long fight with Alzheimer&8217;s.
Jean was born Aug. 24, 1925 in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Raymond and Marie Priest. Jean graduated from Milliken University. She was a registered nurse working at Methodist Hospital (Minneapolis) and Naeve Hospital (Albert Lea).
Jean enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, painting, sculpting and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved children, Cynthia (Rich) Hollander of Delano, Steven Van Winkle of St. Cloud, Suzanne (David) Mondeel of Plano, Texas, Raymond Van Winkle, Seattle, Wash., Donald (Robyn) Van Winkle, Folsom, Calif.; grandchildren Eric Hollander, Leigh and Ted Van Winkle, Laura and Eric Mondeel, Sarah, Jacob, Kayliana and Matthew Van Winkle; great-grandson, Pierre Van Winkle; and brother, Raymond (Toni) Priest of Pittsburg, Penn.
Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer&8217;s Association.
Interment will be Wednesday Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at Lakewood Cemetary. Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 2060 6th Ave North in Long Lake.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church and also Monday Oct. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Washington-McReavy, Strobeck Johnson Chapel, at 1400 Main St. in Hopkins.
