Do you have the time to scrutinize nonprofit agencies in Freeborn County? Are they spending your donations wisely?
In addition, do you have the time to figure out where the greatest needs in Freeborn County are? Can you go around to see whether one agency needs a greater amount of your money than another?
Most people don&8217;t have that kind of time.
That&8217;s why communities across America have the United Way.
In Freeborn County, in neighboring counties and around the country, the United Way chapters add value to their communities by evaluating the social-service programs and making sure they show results.
The United Way is not merely a fundraising organization we hear about every fall. It monitors the giving on behalf of the givers through the year. Programs and agencies are held responsible.
That&8217;s the key reason why United Way is arguably the most cost-effective charity you can give to.
On top of that, it helps people from a broad spectrum of ages and backgrounds right here in our community. The United Way might have a national presence, but the money you give helps locally.
When we think of what &8220;community&8221; means, we couldn&8217;t point to a better example than the United Way. Please give.
