Amy Struyk, 90, Hollandale

Amy Keziah Struyk, age 90, of Hollandale, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at St. Mark&8217;s Lutheran Home in Austin.
She was born Nov. 24, 1916, to Carl L. and Christine (Pederson) Bure in Loon Lake Township, Cass County. She grew up in the Lutheran faith. After receiving her education at a country school in Freeborn County, Amy worked as a cook. She married Lester Anderson on Jan. 15, 1938, in Northwood, Iowa. They were later divorced. She married Adrianus &8220;Jim&8221; Struyk on Sept.
28, 1948, in Northwood, Iowa. They made their home in the Hollandale area where Amy spent most of her life. She attended Hollandale Reformed Church. A housewife and mother, she was also a good cook and a Minnesota Twins fan. She enjoyed sewing, working crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble. Amy moved to Our House in Austin during the fall of 2005 and a year later, to St. Mark&8217;s Lutheran Home.
Survivors include three daughters, Annabelle (John) Peterson of Zion, Ill.; Joy Ness of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; Jennie Neville of Apple Valley; three sons, Lester (Lynn) Anderson of LeRoy, N.Y.; Curtis Anderson of Anchorage, Ala.; Adrianus &8220;Jim/Spanky&8221; Struyk of Hollandale; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leah Olson of Glenville; Eva Hulburt of Chino, Calif.; one brother, Ed Bure of Austin; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son Hendrik &8220;Hein&8221; Struyk; grandson, Chane Peterson; brothers, Jasper Bure, Al Bure and Carl Bure; sister, Ina Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hollandale Reformed Church, 101 E. Park Ave. in Hollandale with the Rev. Mark J. Volkers officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Worlein Funeral Home in Austin is in charge of arrangements. Interment is at Hollandale Cemetery.
