Orlie Haug, 81, Austin

Orlie Mae Haug, age 81, of Austin, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin.

She was born March 16, 1925, in Geneva, to Amos and Olivia (Jolson) Farr, the fourth daughter of five children.

She was married to Lowell Haug on Jan. 1, 1950, and just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. She was the proud mother of six children, Lois, Bruce, Brenda, Pauline, Arden and Myron.

Orlie was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, as a circle member, Sunday school teacher and Scandinavian festival volunteer. During her lifetime, she was involved in the Shaw School PTA, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Sons of Norway and the Mower County Home Extension Program.

She is survived by her husband, Lowell Haug of Austin; daughters: Lois Nordling of Edina, Brenda Haug and Diane Jacobson of Columbia Heights, and Pauline Haug of Eagan; sons and daughters-in-law: Arden and Janna Haug of Stillwater, Myron and Sue Haug of Winona and Jean Haug of Marshall; nine grandchildren; sister, Luella Thompson of Britt, Iowa; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son Bruce; sisters Isabelle and Ethel Kilian; and brother Amos Farr.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary today from 2 to 4 p.m. and one hour before the service at the church.

Organist will be Neal Erickson.

Casket bearers will be Maren Nordling, Patrick Haug, Kristen Haug, Rachel Haug, David Haug, Angela Haug, Kathleen Haug, Vitali Haug and Alexei Haug.

The family prefers memorials to the Geneva Cemetery Fund, St. Olaf Lutheran Church or the donor&8217;s choice.
