Rory Wilhite, 44, Alden

Memorial services for Rory Daniel Wilhite, age 44, of Alden, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Alden. The Rev. Richard Spande will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the time of the service at the church.

Danny died on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 at his home in Alden.

Rory Daniel Wilhite was born on July 9, 1962 in Cook County, Chicago, the son of Roy and Ann (Scott) Wilhite. He grew up in Mississippi and went to school there. Danny worked as a truck driver and also in the construction field. On November 13, 1993, Danny was married to Michelle Jacobsen in McNairy County Tennessee. Danny had recently been disabled due to a fall he suffered. He liked gardening, computers, and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife Michelle of Alden; daughters Brittney and Nicolle both of Alden, sons Jonathan and his wife Samantha Wilhite of Iuka, Miss., and Steven Wilhite, also of Iuka; grandson Ethan Wilhite of Iuka; mother Ann Wilhite Hancock of Corinth, Miss.; mother-in-law Donna Jacobsen of Alden, brother Matt Wilhite of Holly Springs, Miss.; brothers-in-law Matt and his wife Guyla Jacobsen of Vandalia, Ill., Ben Jacobsen of Somersworth, N.H., Lucas and his wife Nicole Jacobsen of Lawrence, Kan., Alexander Jacobsen of Alden, Theodore Jacobsen and fianc/ Leah Gilbertson of Albert Lea, and many nieces and nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by his father Roy Wilhite, his brother Roy Wilhite Jr., and his father-in-law, David Jacobsen.
